Ai microfoni Ogni Mattina il giovane cantante Manuel Aspidi ha fatto sapere a tutti che è gay. “È il momento di essere chi sono”, ha spiegato.    

Il cantante Manuel Aspidi, protagonista della sesta edizione di Amici, ha fatto inaspettatamente coming out durante la trasmissione Ogni Mattina, condotta da Adriana Volpe su TV8: “Sono gay, è il momento di essere chi sono”.

“E’ la prima volta che lo dico, sono gay – ha rivelato commosso Manuel Aspidi – e vengo da una famiglia che mi ha sostenuto fin dal primo giorno e quindi sono molto fortunato. Quando si è sottoposti al giudizio delle persone si ha paura di deluderli. Spesso vieni molto discriminato, come mi è capitato da bambino. Ma è arrivato il momento di essere chi sono, perché io non sono sbagliato”.

Il cantante ha avuto la fortuna di potersi confidare con i suoi affetti: “Io ho avuto la fortuna di avere una famiglia molto open minded, che mi ha accolto come se non fosse successo niente. Le prime persone alle quali ho dichiarato questa cosa sono le mie migliori amiche. Sono come sorelle e loro mi hanno incoraggiato. Ho iniziato prima con mia madre e le mie sorelle. Loro mi hanno abbracciato e mi hanno detto: ‘Sei speciale a prescindere’. Quando l’ho detto a mia mamma lei ha risposto: ‘Amore, sapevo che eri speciale fin da quando eri piccolo’. Un genitore lo sa…”.

In ogni caso Manuel Aspidi non ha avuto una vita facile, neppure da bambino: “I bambini sanno dove andarti a colpire. Io ero diverso, loro giocavano con i robot, io facevo altro e mi mettevo in disparte. Quando i bambini cominciano a discriminarti lo fanno ingenuamente, ma comunque ferisce”.
