Silvia Toffanin è partita dal momento in cui il cantante ha lasciato Napoli, più di trent’anni fa, per poi arrivare ai giorni nostri.

Il periodo più buio per Nino D’Angelo

L’addio a Napoli è stato un trauma per Nino D’Angelo: come ogni suo conterraneo, il cantante è legatissimo alla sua città e per questo non avrebbe mai voluto separarsi dal luogo in cui è nato e a cui sente profondamente di appartenere, sebbene si sia trasferito a Roma. Lui non volva andarsene, ma sua moglie non era serena a Napoli e quindi si è adeguato.

“Quella scelta – racconta in proposito Nino D’Angelo – mi ha fatto molto male perché non mi aspettavo di avere a che fare con la brutta gente di Napoli, che per fortuna è una piccola parte. È stato il momento più brutto della mia vita… Hanno sparato dentro casa mia perché volevano i soldi: è stata un’estorsione, una cosa vomitevole. Più che spaventato, mi sono offeso perché non avevo preso niente a nessuno e ho sempre aiutato chi aveva bisogno”.

Ma quello non è stato l’unico momento difficile che l’artista ha attraversato nella sua vita. Nino D’Angelo è caduto in una brutta depressione e per un certo periodo non è riuscito a scrivere musica. Grazie all’affetto dei suoi fan, però, ha lavorato al nuovo album Il poeta che non sa parlare. “Vivere in modo improvvisato non è vivere – ha osservato -. Il primo lockdown l’ho vissuto molto male, non avevo alcuna intenzione di scrivere canzoni. Pensavo solo a far stare bene la famiglia, soprattutto i miei figli. Poi ho visto il murales che mi hanno dedicato e quel gesto mi ha spronato a fare questo disco che è stato il più difficile della mia carriera. Scrivere di vita quando vicino a te c’è la morte è complicato”.
