Il passato di De Sica è strettamente legato a quello dell’amico e cognato Carlo Verdone. I due si sono infatti conosciuti da giovanissimi. La loro frequentazione risale ai tempi del liceo, quando tra i due grandi attori romani nacque una bellissima e solida amicizia.

Christian si recava spesso a casa dell’amico Carlo. E fu proprio frequentando la sua famiglia, che conobbe Silvia, la sorella dell’attore e regista. Tra i due nacque subito un’intesa speciale ma questo inizialmente non piacque a Verdone, il quale era infastidito da quanto stava avvenendo tra i due. Così lo stesso Verdone, tempo fa, in una intervista raccò di aver dato un giorno uno schiaffo a De Sica poiché era “un po’ farfallone” con la sorella e la portava in giro con macchine di lusso sebbene in quel periodo fosse pericoloso.

Anche De Sica in una intervista fece riferimento a quel momento, avveduto di fronte casa sua, ma secondo quanto da lui stesso riferito, vi furono in quell’occasione solo delle spinte e la rissa fu solo sfiorata.
La relazione tra Christian e Silvia venne poi con il tempo accettata da Verdone che oggi è divenuto il cognato di De Sica, il quale da quella che oggi è diventata sua moglie ha avuto anche i suoi due figli Brando e Maria Rosa.
